Lessons from California’s housing bubble

According to a survey by ING Direct, most buyers entering the market in 2005 thought prices were still on the way up. According the Amey Stone at Business Week, “Of 1,000 people surveyed, all of whom had closed on a new mortgage or refinanced an existing mortgage in the prior six months, 73 percent said they were not concerned that a downturn in the housing market would lead to lower home values in the next year.

House that Prosper Wealth and Descendents

Most Feng Shui system allows a practitioner to assess the quality of a house, usually from a wealth (include career) and relationship (include health) perspective.  

  At the opposite extreme is “prosperous mountain and prosperous water” is “reversed mountain, reversed water” that does not support wealth creation or descendents.

  For example, a Zi Wei Feng Shui practitioner can predict if the house is going to be good or bad for the occupants not just for wealth or career but also relationships – with parents, spouse, sibling, spouse, children and friends – and health (physical and mental).  

  While “wealth creation” is self explanatory, what really does “good for descendents” mean?

Growth in the Rental Market Eases

Australia’s major capital cities have witnessed slower growth in the rental market with most capital cities having little change in median asking rents over the September quarter.The unit market has displayed similar behaviour with median weekly asking rents declining 1% over the September quarter and again a modest 3% increase over the year. The September quarter has seen the median weekly asking rents increase by 7% and an astonishingly 20% increases in prices compared to this time last year.

Spotting the Shpruiker

They’re ba-ack. With their white shoes, snake oil and rental guarantees. They may offer to pay the deposit or offer you vendor finance. You know the ones - the free property investment seminars that will be your ticket to financial freedom. Yeah right. This will most likely become a date with a property shpruiker, (half shark-half spruiker).

The sinister shpruiker will, no doubt, tell you the sorry tale of his poor up-bringing. How his mother and father could hardly afford to put food on the table. That he dropped out of school to flip patties at the local burger joint. After all, anybody can become a multi-millionaire just like him. He will ask the audience to “put up your hands if you are truly living your dream”. No-one ever puts their hand up. The Shpruiker will dwell on how pathetic most people’s lives are hoping you will read …
