Great time to buy in Townsville

HOMEOWNERS have been warned to be more realistic about the value of their homes as Townsville’s real estate boom slows.

After more than seven years of growth, real estate agents across the region are experiencing a weakening market.

Raine & Horne Townsville Central sales manager Michael Andrews
has a house on an 801sq m block listed for $299,000 – something that was unprecedented six months ago.

“The asking price for this house six months ago would have been in the mid-$300,000s and to get a house anywhere in Townsville, let alone Hermit Park, for this price then would have been unheard of,” Mr Andrews said. read more
